The price quoted by my mechanic is ridiculously high (like $350 for the part only, no labour). Where should I look for fair pricing for the parts? Are there any quality aftermarket replacements worth looking at? Are there any other car makes and models that have interchangeable ball joints with Malibu?

Much preferred to be found in GTA or nearby, excluding ebay.

Thanks.

nope they buy they cheapest thing out there and use the mark up to their advantage..if i were you id go to advance auto and get some trw or moog..moog is there best you can get out there poly urethaine usually non grease that will last you longer than the car will they will cose you about 50-90 but you will do it right the first time...the dealers look for cheaper parts just to get by to get more money for the mark ups..see when they call up for parts they have their costs and list which is what they should charge the consumer...so what you can buy for 60 they charge you 120-150 thats how it works..your better off buying the parts and having them put them in.

DO NOT GO TO AUTOZONE THEY BUY FROM THE CHEAPEST VENDOR AND THEY ARE MADE FROM HORRIBLE MATERIALS!! DO NOT SHOP THERE!!!

moog and spicer make very good replacement chassis parts. Try autozone for the best price
