My cd changer keeps getting jammed on cd no. 1 and it quits working for a while but when it starts back up a few weeks or even months later its on cd 6 and as soon as it rolls around to cd no 1 the screen tells me cd error and it wont work again for a few weeks... since this cd played came stock in my car i read the manual and it said it was in the glove compartment, hah its not there. i know it is in the dash because i load it in the front and i can hear it switching sometimes but i dont know where its at or how to get to it with our taking out my dash!i dont wanna take it to a audio place for them just to clean it!which im sure is what it needs, does anyone know a shortcut on how to get to it? Its a 2002 lincoln LSE, and no it wont let me put a cleaning cd in it.it will eject a cd of choice sometime but as soon as you try to play the next one or you try to put another in!BAM it jams up!i just wanna know how to get to it! thanx to anyone with some help!

for my mercedes i just simply bought a used one cuz i thought i would be pointless to buy a new one and having it work the same way..... i bought it on e-bay.... CHEAP

If I understand you correctly you have an in-dash 6 disc changer. It is part of the radio, so you would have to remove the whole thing. Some Ls came with a changer in the trunk or glove box. If your cd player is reading cd error then there is a problem within the unit. It could be caused by burned cds because older radios don't seem to like them. Your best bet is to probably replace the radio. I work at a Lincoln dealership and your cost expenditure would be much less if you replace your radio with an aftermarket unit. I hope this helps.
