Where to find ASP.NET Project file?

I am looking for a project file with a SQL DB and the connection string already set. I can't seem to get any of my projects to connect to a database. I have taken literally 100's of tutorials on the subject of connecting to a database and none have explained the full procedure of how to connect. I know how to set up the database once it is created.
