Where to dine in Santa Monica for a nice birthday dinner?

We are going with a group of 6 to Santa Monica for my boyfriends 30th birthday. I want to rent a limo and go to a nice dinner...somewhere chic but not TOO fancy, but modern..any reccomendations?
