Where is there a good camp site in the Lake District or North Wales?

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good place to camp in the Lake District or North Wales. Basically there will be 3 or 4 lads, not rowdy but would like to stay up late and have a few drinks and some quiet music. We would also like to be able to have a camp fire and a bbq. We dont really want a site with loads of other campers on, portoloos and showers etc, but would like to be buy a lake where we can have a wash.

Ideally we would just go and pitch next to a lake, but obviously that is illegal.

So if anyone knows of anywhere it would be much appreciated.
