I need to replace my thermostat, as I'm sure it's stuck open. So I buy a thermostat, gasket and radiator S looking hose (might as well replace it while I'm there). I remove the S looking hose at the top of the radiator and remove the bolts from the the other end and, surprise, nothing. It's not there. Pondering the situation, the thermostat wouldn't even fit there. So apparently it's somewhere else. Everything I've read and can find on the web suggests it's supposed to be there. This is the Si model with the 1.6L D16Y7 engine.
