Where is the starter in a 99 Toyota 4runner?

hello, I believe my starter is broken...

I'm wondering where is the starter in a 99 toyota 4runner... and also how hard is it to replace the starter? I want to remove mine to take it to autozone so i can get them to check it... and then buy a new one if need be and reinstall it myself..

The more details you give the easier you will make my life...

starters are ALWAYS either on the right or left of the oil pan, back side of the block under the car going into the transmission bell housing. translation for a front-wheel drive car, either by the radiator or by the firewall and it depends on which way the motor is mounted. most front-wheel drive cars mount with the back side of the motor or the transmission side on the right when looking down from an open hood. there are 2 or 3 wires depending on the vehicle and 2 bolts holding it in. difficulty level depends on the design of the car i.e. obstructions that make it difficult to lower the starter out of the car after unhooking the wires and removing the two bolts
