where is the "shift lock" button in Honda Civic 2005 ?

Last day i had a problem that fuel of my car finished on the road i could not apply brakes and when i tried to park it near by steering was too hard to move ..then one of my friend told me to release the shift lock button but i was unable to find where is it actually

Your help in this regard will be highly appreciated
 
Your shift lock button is ONLY used when you have a dead battery and you want to move the transmission selector from park to drive.
the button releases the lock manualy and is located on the top of the console near the shifter.

This is not your problem.
What your concern is when the car stalls, you loose 75 % of your braking and the steering gets very hard, THIS IS NORMAL and will react like this everytme you run out of gas.it has nothing to do with the shift lock button.
