Where is the oil leak coming from (1976 Honda CB550)?

I just bought a 1976 Honda CB550 to learn on and have noticed that a few drops of oil appear on the ground several hours after riding. The guy I bought it from just had the chain replaced and he said that the oil was coming from the chain. Me, not knowing very much about motorcycles, thought it sounded like a decent answer. That was a few weeks ago and I am now wondering if it is something worse. The oil is coming from the front sprocket. Without taking it all apart, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about what it might be. I have heard on another forum that there is a seal in there and when the new chain was put on, the sprocket may have been put on backwards and therefor wearing down the seal. Any ideas???

It sounds like the front sprocket shaft seal from were your saying it's coming from

don't worry it is achain oiler . you can shut it off and buy a good quality chain and lube reguraly by hand, depending how much you ride. personally i would shut it off and take care of my chain my self
