where is the oil dip stick hole on the oil pan in a 78-79 chevy 350?

took it out to rebuild heads and cant find where to put it back! theres a 7inch long tube that is slightly curved that goes into the oil pan or whatever, that does not have threads that we took off (the dipstick went in it) wheres the hole at!?
i looked on the exhaust manifold, its not there, and we took it off the drivers side
 
along the oil pan can be eiyther side...just presses in... i know it sounds crappy and is...ive had lots where you pull dipstick and tube comes with it...look under at pan see the bump along the lip
 
The hole is on the left side (passenger side) and slides in.... It bolts to the exhuast manifold
