Where is the low side service port on my 1987 Jeep Cherokee A/C system?

I have a pressure gauge (it resembles a tire pressure gauge in appearance) and I'm trying to locate the low pressure service port so I can connect the gauge to it. Please note, I am not familiar with much of the A/C terminology, so please use idiot proof words like "silver thing" and "round thing" when describing it to me.

Also, is this the same port where coolant will be added, or will this be done at the compressor? My Jeep is a 1987 with the old R-12 type A/C system. I am recharging it with Freeze 12, which works great in my other Jeep (a professional did that one - I am doing this one myself).
