I have a 2000 mercury cougar. I bought it 3 months ago and since then it has been making a humming noise that kind of sounds like a leaf-blower (more often in cold weather). I did some research on this and i found that this can be caused by a dirty iac valve. I plan on cleaning it tomorrow. Does this sound correct? Can this be caused by a dirty iac? If so where is it and how do you clean it? Thanks in advance.
