i bought this car from a lady who said it needed new spark plugs, spark plug wires, and a valve cover gasket. i replaced all those parts, and it tried to start up but it couldnt. by putting carb cleaner (or starter fluid i tried both) in the carb it idled for about 5 seconds then died when i tried to give it gas. i was told i needed a new fuel pump, and it would be expensive to fix because it is in the gas tank. i bought a fuel pump off a guy who had a 2000 dodge stratus, and he told me it would be under my backseat or under my trunk mat in the middle somewhere under a metal circular peice. i looked under my back seat and saw nothing. have yet to search the trunk. any help????
