My 03 MM has an inoperable cooling fan. I know this because while idling one night, it nearly overheated... cooling fan never activated. I already confirmed the fan still works because I jumped the leads directly off the battery to test it and it kicked on. I'm looking for the relay to test next but I can't find it anywhere. I looked in the owners manual and all it told me was the location of the maxifuse for it. The maxifuse is good. All the relays are neatly packed in the underhood fuse block, but no mention of the cooling fan relay in the manual. Does my car even have a cooling fan relay? Can anyone shed some light on this?
There are no leaks in the cooling system, no blown head gaskets, and the coolant is in good condition and filled to the proper level. I do my best to take care of my baby, but damn Ford electrical lol.
I used a scanner and confirmed the sensor is working properly. I just need to know if my car has a cooling fan relay or not.
