Where is the air filter in a s50?

I'd check under your tank.
I'm guessing no owner's manual huh?

I've spent 20 mins checking the web and K&N doesn't list an air filter for the S50.

I'd make a call to your local shop if you can't find anything in the history here and ask them.
 
The S50 uses two filters, one for each carb. Locate each carb, the end of the carb that does not go into the engine should go into a black box that contains the air filter. One is under the tank and one is near the front of the seat. The S50 is very compact around the engine so you may have to look a bit.
