I'm getting a code P0135 on my Civic. It's got less than 40K and my inspection is due today which really makes me mad. Now my engine light is on! I've checked the fuses and all look good, I've checked under the hood to make sure that there are no shorted out wires and everything looks nice and clean. Is there somewhere else I should be looking? The code P0135 is 02 Sensor Heater Circuit
Malfunction (Bank 1, Sensor 1). Do you think that the sensor has gone bad already or that there could be an electrical problem? If I have to change the sensor, where is sensor 1 bank 1 located? Is it the one staring me in the face when I open my hood or is it the one under the car that's a pain to get to? Anyone else experienced this problem with a relatively new Civic? BTW, the car runs fine, no issues, but gas mileage may have gotten a tad bit worse since the light came on. It's not that noticeable though. Thanks!

Just take it to the dealer it should be covered under you 8/80,000 emissions warranty.

sensor 1 bank 1 is in the exhaust system and is the first ox sensor. Usually auto zone etc will show you for free. should not be too hard to replace assuming this is the root cause, as fault codes do not always pinpoint the problem.
