Where is a purge flow sensor located on a 1997 Ford Ranger?

It is a 2.3L 4-cylinder manual transmission. I'm getting a purge flow sensor error code and also a system too lean code.

Symptoms:
1. The first time of the day I start the vehicle, I have to give it a lot of gas starting from first, otherwise it'll die. After about five minutes, it's ok.

2. Some kind of knock, sounds like it's coming from underneath the engine, passenger side.

3. This only happens sometimes: After passing 55 mph engine starts to shake, won't accelerate anymore, and it doesn't stop until I slow down to around 40 mph

I've replaced the air filter, plugs, wires, and fuel filter.

I don't know which of these are related to each other, and I also don't know where the PF sensor is.

I think the purge solenoid is right about the drivers side wheel well under the hood...but I could be wrong. There should be an emissions sticker under the hood that has vacuum line routing on it, I believe the purge solenoid is shown on the sticker. With both of these codes I would look for a vacuum leak first probably on the line going from the intake to the purge solenoid...listen for vacuum leaks and look for any rotted or broken vacuum lines. Good luck!
