Transportation question...? Hi.

I'm traveling to Palermo tomorrow and would love to see as much as I can in two weeks.

Where is a good place to rent a bike for that amount of time?

Also, what should I know about the Italian Public Transportation System (buses,trains,etc)?

Is it as confusing as my friends tell me it is?
