I recommend the Sunshine Coast in Southeast Queensland. Some of the best surfing in the country and no need for a wetsuit because the water temp is great. Australia Zoo is just down the road, there is also a deer sanctuary and numerous other animal attractions in the area. head inland a bit from the Coast and there is awesome bushwalking, mountain climbing, freshwater fishing and subtropical rainforests.
