A year ago, we were still in an economic boom and places were trading normally, but since then, all we hear about is bad news and of companies going under and such. What I would like to know is where is all the money they had a year ago when they were still successful?

Nothing ever leaves the planet - so where is it all now?

Look, we can solve all our problems tomorrow. Just abolish social security, housing benefit and overseas aid. Then the working people of this country could enjot the fruits of their labour ( no pun intended ).

There is an enormous administrative fiddle going on.
They never get a result.
The games they play!

"money" is the price tag on products services etc.
a dollar or any other currency is just a kind of i owe you paper
if nobody wants that kind of paper it loses it value

You've noticed it too ?

My question last week - Where is all the Gold? http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgnwjNwknc823bpL_WVwNH4hBgx.;_ylv=3?qid=20080916051312AAsXlvt

It comes from the banks - and goes to the banks. We actually only keep a bit of it for food - the rest of our salary goes on taxes - to government - to pay debts to the banks.

Inflation prevents us from keeping any - and Pensions although mandatory get raided or suffer losses - so end up pretty worthless anyway.

It's all a big con game to keep the elite well fed.

There never was any money. It was all credit. The banks lent to each other the same money time and again. You can only have as much as you have gold reserves and what happened to ours? Gormless Gordon sold it off at rock bottom prices and now is having to borrow £100 billion just to keep the country afloat.

In 1978, Denis Healey, the then Chancellor went cap in hand to the IMF begging for funds because the Labour Government had bankrupted the country.

We shall shortly see Alister Darling performing this humiliation. Don't believe me? The IMF have already warned him that UK spending is out of control.

We are going to witness another 'winter of discontent'. Thanks to New Labour.
