Where does your favorite villain fit on the "Sliding Scale Of Antagonist Vileness"?

I don't really have one overall favourite, but one of my big all time favourites is Satan from John Milton's Paradise lost*, who can be seen as an anti-villain, complete monster or anything in between. He's complex that way.

*I'm really not trying to be all pretentious and high-brow by pulling out Paradise Lost, I just really like that poem.

I agree, Milton's Satan is an excellent character. Definitely one of my favorite villains.

Another favorite of mine is Fantomas from the books by Marcel Allain & Pierre Souvestre. Not a very complex character, but definitely a fascinating one. I'd say he's somewhere between a "For the Evulz"-villain and a "Complete Monster" if we're talking in tropes.

The Anti-Villain is defiantly the one I like the most.

L vs Kira was still the best 'fight' ever. Both were easily the Hero and the Villain through and through.

Even the fight between Suzaku Kururugi and Zero held the same feel to it.

Heck, if you stick close to the original starting of Bleach, Ichigo is kind of an Anti-Villian at first. Think about it, he was a guy who generally maintained a mean front but he often helped spirits transcend to Soul Society. Outwardly, must people saw him as a punk kid, while his heart was always in the right place. He pulled the same attitude right before going to Heucho Mondo too.

I really get into these kinds of characters because they are more believable to me.

Well Doofenshmirtz and Drakken are both mentioned as being harmless villains but some other favorites of mine unlisted above such as Mr Burns probably fit into other categories. Team Rocket i like but they above are listed as several things. I notice the poster above considers Marvin Martian a homicidal maniac. Riiiight. He's just a typical alien, hardly a villain. All aliens are like that on tv. Also Daffy Duck isn't an antagonist, he's a protagonist, isn't he?

Some other favorite villains of mine (which i couldn't classify into the categories above seeing as i don't know the method and rules of classification as regards the classification system above shown) would be a few. I can't remember many of them though. I guess... Hank Scorip and Sideshow Bob or something.

Where would Carmen Sandiego from the Earth series fit in? She is a villainess, but there are times where she helps Zack and Ivy stop someone else, and she prefers to challenge them to stop her.

- Helped Zack and Ivy catch her head scientist, Sarah Bellum
- Helped them catch ACME turncoat Lee Jordan on two separate occasions
- Captured a criminal named Maelstrom as an ACME detective, and later helped catch him again after he escaped from prison
- Supposedly died in a snowstorm, but was revealed to be alive and her last crime was a test to see who would be worthy of inheriting VILE, which the two passed
