Where does the fresh air come in for a/c and heat in a car?

Wanting to play a prank on a friend and spray something in where the fresh air comes into the car so that when they turn on the a/c or heat, it's blasting through. Is this even possible without getting inside the car?
To first answerer below: I won't be able to open doors or the hood. This needs to be done from the outside of the car. Is it possible?
