I can't seem to research this questions without getting bogged down in a thousand hits of either "How do I get rid of expired medicine?" or "What happens [chemically] to medicine when it expires?"
I was thinking about medicine charities, expired medicine is just reduced in effectiveness, it's better than no medicine. Does anyone know what drug stores do with expired medicine? Is there a service that collects it, do they throw it in the garbage? Do you think it would be useful to send it to countries that can't afford medicine?
