I am fortunate when I think about some of you guys in the midwest who have straight roads everywhere. Norcal is like a riders heaven, sacramento is close to the ocean and mountains with wonderful roads up north too

This is my normal weekend ride. The middle part (Angwin) I do every Sunday for basketball. Sometimes I mix it up with different roads around the lake.

That is one awesome trip, we don't have anything of the sort around here... I need to go out west!

Not to twist the knife, but this is just one of the routes around here. There are an infinite amount of great roads that last an hour or two and go out to the coast, and likewise that go up into the mountains.

I once mapped out a 10 hour drive for me and the wife that went from lake tahoe to the coast and never saw a straight-away longer than half a mile. This is one of the main reasons I just moved back to the area form So. Cal.

I am a very jealous man, how do you fair on a ride like that with gas? are the stations close enough in between to handle a ride like that?

Yeah. There are small towns with one or two stations scattered all over the place on the back roads up here. On longer rides, it does take some planning, but nothing to detailed.
