Where do you get the username for your wireless?

So ive been trying to get my wireless working but it asks for the usename but im not sure on what it is.
i tried the email for the thingy but it didnt work so where do you get it?
do you have to log onto your bigpond account and check to see if the user name is there?
what do i do?
