If America gets most of its electricity from coal power plants, how is buying a Hybrid better than using a regular gas car? I can see how it would be useful IF we had more Nuclear, Geothermal, Wind, Solar, and Natural Gas power plants, but if we are going to sit and burn oil and coal for power what good are we doing?

Hybreds get their power by recycling the power from the gas. The batteries are recharged when coasting and breaking. They don't use power from the grid, the just make efficient use of the power the car creates.

The price is too much, When gas was at 4dollars the price of the hybrid went so high that it would take longer to pay for the car then you could wear it out! Gas is not a big deal, they waste , it cost as much in oil and is produced, It takes oil to produce and uses fresh water, I don't know about you , but I do not care if we run out of oil, I do care if we run out of water. I think maybe solar panels on cars will help, but I think they need to get behind something that works instead of raping and crushing people to make profits of gas and oil , collecting while they going is good and really causing the economic crunch of the entire world, it is not banks, but irresponsible more oil on corn to produce instead permiting abuse of over charge
