Where do I start with Artificial Intelligence for Chess.?

Hi,
I was working on to create a PvP chess game and I want to make an AI for it.
I want to code it via neural networks. I am a decent programmer but do not have much idea of the AI part.Where should I start with???

Also, my PvP chess game is made on JSP and AJAX.In which language should i code AI? in JSP or call a python or c++ script?
