Where do i stand legally with Vodafone?

I recently called Vodafone in an attempt to solve an issue i had. I have moved house, and i cannot get a signal within or around my home. I have to walk around 600 yards to a childrens' play park to make a call or receive one.

When i called Vodafone, they told me about a product called "SureSignal" and offered to send one out.

Naturally i said yes, this item would boost my signal and make it possible to use my phone again!

Then when i called back to find out why i could register the product online, or log in to my account on their website, i inadvertantly discovered that there was a ?50 charge on my account that i hadn't been told about. A charge i had incurred by accepting the offer of SureSignal. Only AFTER I'd received it, was i told of the charges.

Does anyone know what my rights or legal entitlements are in this situation? Must i pay for it or send it back?
As yet, i have not paid for the product. My query is really, should I?
Also, i'm tied in to a contract that i cannot afford to buy my way out of at this point.

My point is, they have sent me something, and only after giving it to me with no mention of cost, did they ask me to pay for it. They have given me something... Legally, am i obliged to pay for it if no request for money was made before they handed it over? I'm not sure I even have to return it...

It's like giving something to someone, then once they have it and start using it, you then tell them it isn't free and you want money for it, or ask for the return of the item. There's something wrong there.
