thing? Bird strikes on wind turbines are a real occurrence for the super-sized units that utility companies put up, but the birds don't actually get "minced", it's a blunt force trauma. For small scale wind turbines like a homeowner might put up bird-strikes are no more common than birds flying into your window. Some wind turbine owners even put those fake owls on the side of the unit just like some homeowners put those fake owls by their large picture windows.
