Where Did The Term "LG" Come From?

I know it means "little girl" but where did it come from? I only started hearing it this year, and when I was in Grade 9 (usually Grade 9 girls are the only ones called LGs) the girls were not called LGs. I think the whole term is stupid anyways, I am just curious.
 
it means lifes good...but knowing us upperclassmen..we prolly twisted it around to mean something only people at your school know..little girl ..haha
