Where did the Mycenaean civilization live and what were they known for?

they lived on Crete, and they were known for their matriarchal society and preserved paintings and frescos on the walls of thier ruins.

They lived in the northern part of modern Greece in the first millenium BC. They were responsible for most of the legends that we know of as "Greek". The Iliad and Oddysey were almost certainly accounts of Mycenaean rulers and their deeds.
