According to a Thread i read i did the Following:

I started out with Official 1.5 from T-mobile.

This is what i did Step By Step:
1 Installed Recovery Flasher, Backed up the old, And flashed a new recovery menu.
Reboot. "Flash Cyanogen Recovery 1.4" is a success. Now i have the new recovery and select the following:
2 I choose to wipe all data / factory reset. As was recommended when installing new Roms...
3 i chose apply any zip from SD and selected my rom
4 successfully installed "update-cm-4.2.14.1-signed" , At this point i reboot and enjoy! no.. not quite instead i am...
5 completely lost., It now boots to Tmobile G1 screen and stays there for at least 15 min before i look it up and find out this is a soft brick?

Do i need more steps to finish the procedure i started? or is this really a soft brick for it to freeze like this and need more drastic measures to get back to a working phone? i retried steps 2 to 4 a few times and it still freezes.
Did i follow a bad Thread? i cant afford to loose this phone =(, I read around that if you have recovery access there is hope! Please help, i am not sure what i missed or i suppose i need a tutorial to fix (finish this?) or go back to square one with original rom? W.e it is i must do now, i am in your hands!

The guide that comes most recommended here is http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Full_Update_Guide_-_G1/Dream_Firmware_to_CyanogenMod

It sounds like you want to start from step 4 on that guide, but you may want to start from the beginning.

yea u cant jump to cyan latest without flashing the official htc 1.6 image. remember there was that whole fiasco with Google n cyan.
