Where could I learn the basics of HTML language and hacking?

Yes, I know they are not related, they are things I am interested in. And no, I just want to learn to hack for fun, I read it in a book and thought it would be something I might need a use for someday.
 
you can learn almost ANYTHING on the internet, just do some google searches and what not

however, html isn't a language that is used for hacking

in order to 'hack' something/someone, you need extensive knowledge or at least a well built foundation of multiple higher-level languages like c/++, java, pearl, cobalt, pascal, etc.
