where could i find good electronics training? (website that helps inventors?)?

i am trying to build a security system on my intercom in front of the house, something like where u insert a four digit number on a numpad and the door unlocks but i know i need aseembly language and chipset education inorder to do such things so where do i get it. is there like a websites for 'inventors' helping other inventor. because thats not the only thing i have in mind, i am also trying to create other gadgets all the time but i usually backoff in the middle because i am either demotivated or i just cant find the knowledge.

so any suggestions on a website?
