Where can you get waterproof pants for hiking?

I'm going hiking on a camp trip next month and I've been told to purchase plastic or waterproof pants to wear on top of the pants I'd be wearing. Does anyone know where you can buy these kind of pants so I can keep warm and dry?

Camping stores are your best bet. There are many types of waterproof pants available so shop around. Gortex is one fabric that both breathes and is waterproof.
 
Check out sierratradingpost.com they have good clearance deals on outdoor gear. I would look for a pair of waterproof rain pants. Gore-tex is awesome if you can afford it.
