Where can I ride a dirt bike for free in Maryland or Virginia?

Ok..so I live in Ft. Washington and am about to get a dirt bike. Trouble is I can't find any info on a free trail where I can ride it.
I'm willing to go as far as Bowling Green to ride since I'm out there often. Also, I'm new to riding so it would have to be an easy to handle trail. Any thoughts?
