Where can I learn the true history of vampires?

Every site online is made up by people who can barely put together a sentence in English, and full of typos (and that's usually the first sign that something isn't credible). Are there any unbiased or old books I could find to better learn about this myth?
Or does anyone know a website that is actually credible.
