My friends and I are looking for a place where we can go camping and shooting. Not shooting at a range, but practice target shooting out in the forest. We are located in Florida but are willing to drive out of state but stay in the south east united states. No further north then South Carolina. We want to find a place we can hike to, set up camp, and go practice shooting near our campsite (not at a range). Does anyone have any ideas? We'd be shooting handguns and rifles. I've already called multiple Wildlife Management Areas and while hunting and camping is allowed, target shooting is not. No weapons in Florida state parks (still researching other states). I've called 10 different agencies, everyone says "find someone with private land". How the hell do i do that? We'll happily throw down some cash for a guy with 100 - 200 acres of woodland to let us camp and shoot. Any help being pointed in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. remember, we want to do this legally. Not just hike into someones backyard or in a state park and blast off rounds.
