where can i get my backpack back from the police?

my friend was holding a back pack for me while i got something to eat... they were biking inside a school.. he told me that he got chased out of the school by cops and they had to leave it behind... i got really important stuff in that bag... i went inside the school to look for it but i couldnt find it... where do i get it back... keep in mind that i do not know how to bike... and that my friend who is really good at it was inside the school.. the cops got a really good look at him... i kinda look like him but i didnt break any laws where do i get my backpack back
