Where can I find this book?

I need to know the name of it.. the cover of the book was a little girl and a boy and a purple creature with wings. its a little kids book. about another world.. these kids take a trip to the other world. the little girl is friends with all of them. I think it is called... ummm... something like.. the experiment??
 
When you've found the title of the book, you can look for it at either Border's or Books-A-Million. If it's not in the store, they might have it on their website and you can order it.
