These refugees are illiterate in their native language and are unfamiliar with the Roman alphabet. I understand the objectives, but I feel like I am reinventing the wheel when making lesson plans. It takes forever. Surely there is a book out there with lesson plans and activities already prepared for this kind of class. I am a volunteer and have no ESL training.
Where can I find resources for teaching ESL to pre-literate refugees?
