Where can I find paint codes for a Chevy caviler 2004 sedan? Someone said to look

under the hood, but...? all i see is a bunch of cables and what I think is the engine. I know next to nothing about cars, but I want to try and do some touch up work myself on a scratch by the door. I'm so picky about scratches, I know it would be a useful skill to learn. Where is that freaken paint code, so I get the right color!
 
any auto parts store or auto paint shop. even with the exact paint it may have to be modified for fading. don't forget the clear coat paint.
 
My advise is to suck up the costs and buy the book. I liked the Net plus in depth. Flash cards and quizes are nice, but the only real way to prepare is to really know the material and that means reading and practicing the real thing.
 
The paint code is usually on one of the door jam stickers in the drivers door. Near the bottom of the sticker is where they usually have it. Hope that helps some. Good luck.
