Where can I find information or case law about landlords illegally voiding

lease before move in? Landlord voided my lease on the day I was supposed to move in breaching our contract.

Where can I find case law, or any information in general about this specific topic. Most sites only cover landlord suing tenant not vise versa... is there a legal term for this that should be searching for?

Landlord breaching lease on move in day no prior notice, clause in lease states 30 days must be given to void or terminate lease.

I don't even need specific state information, anything in general will help because I can't find anything where the tenant is suing the landlord for breach prior to move in.
"Technically, your lease hadn't started yet, so you could have a problem"

technically he had to give me 30 days notice, since he didn't i can sue for damages including the rent differential in my new 1 yr lease as I understand. The lease had no liability release on his end.

You might try to use a search term such as Google and us these key words or phrases:

Your state will be extremely helpful.... for ex. if you live in Florida, add Florida.

And try the following words or phrases.

"Breach of contract"

landlord

Court

Opinion (this word will help you find case law).

Technically, your lease hadn't started yet, so you could have a problem. The lease probably had language stating that you would be a tenant starting on XX day, but since you were not allowed to move in, and he voided the lease on or before that day, it's like the lease never existed. You should be refunded any deposits.

You need to look at state law as that will cover if punitive damages are available and if so at what rate. Otherwise you are only looking at recovering your loss from the breach.
