won't break the bank? For Christmas, I want to replace the in-dash stereo in my fiance's car. The CD player doesn't work and the display almost never works. We recently went on a road trip and we spent, in total, about 21 hours driving to and from our destination and the fact that we couldn't listen to what we wanted to made it very unpleasant. I just need some good suggestions on what to look for. I won't be buying it until next month, but I would like to get a good idea of what I want.

If it's any help, the car is about 6 or 7 years old and the system right now has a CD player and tape deck. We don't really care to have a tape deck in there, considering we don't have tapes anyway. I'm looking somewhere in the price range of about $99-$350(I really can't afford much more).

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

It all depends on what he likes....if he is satisfied with something simple...you can buy him a cd player and the 4 speakers...thats pretty basic...and cheap...you can get a package at walmart for about 100 bucks...comes with the stereo and the speakers...it even comes with a hat....if he likes a bass...then you can get him a subwoofer and an amplifier....there is a GREAT variety of products out there...I recommend you go to your local car audio shop...try taking a friend that knows something about car audio...GOOD LUCK
