I want to try to rebrand an R560 (metro) over to Cricket complete with apps, logos, etc..

I already was able to get the talk / text working fine. Now I want to tackle the rest !!

From what I have read, and gotten here, I need a rom file from a Cricket R560 to put on the Metro one.

I tried to see if I could SAVE the file from another Cricket phone but I couldn't get the security code for Cricket

Thanks for any suggestions !

I think that there is much more to it than that my friend. Which password are you looking for. And by the way a ROM is not persay what you would need roms are built for WinMo, Linux phones not just your typical run of the mill phone.

Well when I say "ROM" I was really referring to the firmware image. In reality a ROM (Read Only Memory) would not be able to be changed by software. But I digress.. I'm tryin' ta lern LOL!

I need the SPC for the Cricket phone to be able to get into it ( I think). I was able to get into the Metro phone using an SPC calc tool and then changing it to 000000 when I got in.. But not sure how that applies to Cricket!

I realize that most if not all info can be googled. But I also know (since I have already done so) that there are a gazillion different pieces of info that will say Do it this way.... NO you must do it THIS way... unless it's after this. No, that's the OLD way, if you do it like that, you will brick your phone. etc etc etc... there is so much bad / old / outdated / mis - information mixed in with the GOOD information it muddies everything up.

That's why it's nice when somebody has already FOUND the right sequence / key / etc they sometimes get together with like-minded people, like, say on a forum or something and actually SHARE the knowledge so everyone isn't re-inventing the wheel.

Thanks for all the help :buddies:

Information can be found here in this forum. Programs, tools, and files, will only be found on google because they are all considered wares and are not allowed to be posted, or linked in this forum. As far as old stuff wrong stuff, every post has a date, and just about everyone replies back that stuff worked for them to assure everyone.

http://howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1631637 this is your older post where you were told what you needed to use. And you were told that you will have to find them elsewhere because its warez. Sorry for the whole back and forth thing but no matter how many posts you make you will not find someone that is willing to link them to you unless they want to be banned. So please search for them else where, and stop spamming the forum.

I found the SPST. What I am missing is the firmware.

Sorry, I did not realize that would be considered Warez.. I thought just the licensed progs (like SPST, etc) were what was prohibited.j

Seems like nobody has a problem flashing CDMA phones over to Cricket, but not much is said about AWS flashing. *shrug*

Any program or file you use to modify a phone is warez. As Far as AWS flashing if the phone is AWS it should work as flashing a non aws phone. But if your going to flash and use a dual band phone in an AWS market thats a different story.
