I need ONLY my rear pads (no rotors) changed, cheapest ive found is $160 for parts, labor, and including tax. Car is 1998 Honda Accord V6. Person finding the cheapest gets a reward!!!
Just get a few tools and a chiltons book and have at it. A front brake job should only take you a couple hours even if it is your first time doing it. A rear depending on how much you need to replace may take a bit longer but is fairly easy.
Go to www.cartalk.com. punch in the zip code for the area where you want the repairs done and check out the commits of customers that had this type of work done and the listing of the shops that did the repair.
I myself am not too smart, but when it comes to something like stopping a 3,600 pound car with me in it, I try to think that paying a little more to get it done right is probably worth it.
If you can't do it yourself, how are you so certain that the rotors don't need turned or replaced?
