Where can I buy some ether solvent to get bike chain grease out of my cycling jersey?

Yesterday on the Seattle to Portland ride my bike chain broke due to a worn crankshaft. But in the fixing process, my hands touched my jersey, brand new nice jersey! A fellow cyclist who helped get the bike fixed said to use ether (chemical) and test it on a small spot on the jersey first. Where can I buy that? Isn't it at some grocery stores or places like Rite-Aid medical section??

Thank you!
Yah I guess why not - soap works on things too. I just have to try and wash it when I am more rested up.

Ether is nasty/dangerous/explosive/flammable. That's one way people blow things up including themselves.

An ether is a kind of chemical not a specific one. There are many kinds of ethers. A common one is diethylether..

Ethers are the main components of starting fluid for engines.

Lots of companies make things formulated to get oil/grease out of fabrics. One of them is called Gunk.
The trick, at least in my hands, is to use concentrated soap before you use too much water. Something like concentrated dish (sink) soap (Dawn) works well.
