Where can I buy a cheap bicycle?

Like the title says, I need a bike for low cash. I don't know any garage sales so I'll need a store-bike.

Also, do you think I would be able to return it after 1 day? I really only need it for 1 day.
I'm not cheap! I live in an appartment building and it would be impossible to carry a bike down 6 flights of stairs each time. Locking it outside is vandalism.

And I don't know anybody who'd lend me one. :(
 
Just face it you are CHEAP. You can go to Walmart and get a bike, they are returned there all of the time. You can use it up to 90 days before returning it. So make sure you get your moneys worth.
 
If you only need a bike for one day, don't buy a bike. Like the first responder said, see if you can rent a bike.
Also, where are you? Depending on where you are you can find some good used bikes. I know there's a good bike shop in Novato that I forget the name of, but it's a good community program.
It would be rude to buy a bike only to return it after one days use.

Why dont you look for rentals in your area?

--Also why does it need to be cheap if you only need it for one day and your gonna return it any way
--And they probably won't let you return it because of wear on the tires
You should just borrow one from someone.
