Where are the voices of the Un-Insured in this debate?

I hate it when I hear people with great health coverage (mostly politicians and talk-show personalities) talk about how terrible it would be to have universal coverage or a public option.
First of all, politicians ALREADY have a public funded plan in that WE pay their insurance.
Secondly, we already over-pay for the health (or lack there-of) of the uninsured by covering the costs their catastrophic illnesses when they walk into the emergency rooms of our hospital unable to pay.
The poor have Medicaid. The rich have enough money to pay for good coverage. The elderly have Medicare. What about those who are hard working and can't afford coverage? Who speaks for them?
Actually, Linda J, you don't know me or my situation. I am one of the "rich' so really, I shouldn't give a damn. But I was once struggling and couldn't afford coverage and I hate to think about what would happen to my employees if my business could no longer afford to pay for their health insurance.
The private companies (I have Oxford) have raised their priced about 15% a year. i am paying about $650 per employee per month ($1200 per family) and it can't go on like this.
