How near? The season is over in the sierra unless you are brave. Sardine Lake, is just north of a 'town' called Bassets, Its about 1 hour 30 minutes ENE of sacramento. Great park, there are two lakes connected by a spillway. You can rent rowboats, fish and swim. theres a cafe too, its a california state park. Same area there's Gold Lake, which is larger. Both are between Greagle and bassets.
In the valley, there are two nice spots near oroville, and One near the town of Washington.
